Summer School Options

Students have three options for taking classes over the summer. If you plan to take a course for initial credit, you must complete the Online Course Registration Form before enrolling in the online class. For questions, please email your school counselor.

Cobb Virtual Academy (CVA)

  • Initial credit or credit recovery

  • Cost is $275 per 0.5 credit

  • Asynchronous instruction

  • Registration: March 2 - June 1

  • Course dates: May 27 - July 2

  • Final exam window: July 5 - 7

Georgia Virtual School (GAVS)

  • Initial credit or credit recovery

  • Cost is $250 per 0.5 credit

  • ​Asynchronous instruction

  • Registration: March 1 - June 4

  • Course dates: June 1 - July 2 

  • Final exam window: July 4 - 9

  • Students may enroll in a course with GAVS only if the course is not offered by CVA or if the CVA course is full

HS Summer Credit Recovery Program

  • Credit recovery only

  • No cost

  • In-person instruction at Wheeler High School

  • Free transportation

  • Breakfast and lunch provided

  • Registration: March 1 - May 20 (register on ParentVue)

  • Course dates: June 8 - 23 (9:00 am - 3:00 pm)
