A Parent/Guardian's Guide to Thriving in High School

This presentation, presented by the Walton and Dickerson school social workers, is designed to help families navigate the high school environment, including maintaining the high school's social scene, dealing with stress and anxiety, and fostering and maintaining healthy peer and family relationships. Strategies to build good academic, social-emotional, and interpersonal habits are shared.

Freshman Family Night: Class of 2027 Freshman Class Information
September 12, 2023
This presentation discussed graduation requirements, athletic eligibility, and PSAT information from the administration. The English, math, science, and social studies department chairs discussed success and expectations in their respective disciplines.

Senior Family Night: The College Application Process
August 22, 2023
This two-part presentation for senior families focused on the college admissions process. Part 1 reviewed the college application process, college essay writing tips, and recent college statistics & trends. Part 2 focused on highly selective college admissions.

Senior Classroom Presentation
August 11, 2023
This presentation for seniors was delivered to all 12th grade English classes. Topics discussed included post-secondary options, the college application process, Naviance, requesting transcripts and letters of recommendation, financial aid, and volunteer service hours.
