High School Counselors Navigating Dual Enrollment Accelerated Career Diploma to Elevate Student Success

Cobb School Counselor Association Conference
January 26, 2024

While dual enrollment (DE) participation in Georgia has skyrocketed over recent years, less than 1% of students pursue the DE Accelerated Career Diploma (DEACD) option (formerly known as SB2 and Option B). This program allows students to obtain their high school diplomas by earning just nine out of the traditional 23 high school credits as well as technical credentials in high-skilled, high-demand fields like Welding and Early Childhood Education through the Technical College Systems of Georgia (TCSG). This presentation equips high school counselors with practical insights, strategies, and support to effectively recruit and successfully guide students through the DEACD program, enabling them to enter the workforce immediately after graduation debt-free.
